Is Dighton in Mass Save?

It depends on the address. Part of Dighton gets its electricity from National Grid and part from the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant (the state's list names both), and Mass Save follows the company that sends the electric bill: a home on National Grid's service is in the Mass Save program, and a home on the light plant's service is outside Mass Save's electric program. A home on the light plant's service can still use Mass Save through an Eversource gas account.

To check, look at the company name on your electric bill, or ask the light plant whether it serves your street.

Dighton is on the state's list of municipal light plants; Mass Save in municipal light plant towns has the full decision tree.

Window rebates and financing in Dighton

For a home on National Grid's electric service, mass Save pays $75 per window in 2026, and only when ENERGY STAR Most Efficient windows replace single-pane windows after you complete the weatherization recommendations from a Home Energy Assessment.

Replacing double-pane windows earns no rebate. The 0% HEAT Loan can finance ENERGY STAR replacement windows, but only alongside completed weatherization recommendations.

On the light plant's service, the Mass Save window rebate goes through an Eversource gas account; a home with no such account uses the light plant's own programs.

Do you need a permit for replacement windows or doors in Dighton?

Plan on one. Window and door replacement is not on the Massachusetts building code's list of permit-exempt work, and the Dighton Building Department decides whether a same-size swap counts as an ordinary repair. 52% of Dighton's homes were built before 1980 (Census ACS 2018-2022), and work that disturbs paint in a home built before 1978 has to follow the lead-safe renovation rules.

permits.llc carries the rules: its Massachusetts guide to the permit for replacement windows or doors and the Dighton Building Department page, with the department's contact and portal. For a sense of volume, permits.llc counts 11 building permits filed in Dighton in August and September 2026 (its count).
