Based in Malden, Quality Core Fence is within a short drive of Saugus (2 mi), Melrose (2 mi), Revere (2 mi), Everett (3 mi), Chelsea (3 mi) and Lynn (4 mi). Most Massachusetts fencing contractors work a 25-mile radius, so homeowners in those towns can reasonably ask for a quote.
Hiring a Fencing contractor in Malden
Malden requires a permit for most fences through the building division, and your installer must hold a state Home Improvement Contractor registration. The application includes a plot plan showing the fence relative to your boundary, which matters where neighbors are separated by a few feet. Post footings should reach about 48 inches below grade to clear the frost line. Call Dig Safe (811) before digging, essential given the dense buried utilities in this inner suburb. Expect hand-digging in tight side yards.
Fence costs in Malden run in the upper band for the inner suburbs, reflecting Boston-metro labor and tight access. Cedar or pressure-treated privacy fence runs roughly $44 to $72 per linear foot installed; vinyl/PVC runs $48 to $86; ornamental aluminum runs $52 to $90; chain-link is the budget option at $24 to $44. Old shared-fence removal, hand-digging between closely set homes, and no-driveway staging are the main cost drivers.
Massachusetts requires a written contract and a Home Improvement Contractor registration for most residential fencing work; ask for the registration number and check it before paying a deposit.
