Based in Avon, Jack's Landscaping is within a short drive of Holbrook (2 mi), Brockton (3 mi), Randolph (4 mi), Abington (4 mi), Stoughton (4 mi) and Braintree (5 mi). Most Massachusetts landscaping contractors work a 25-mile radius, so homeowners in those towns can reasonably ask for a quote.
Hiring a Landscaping contractor in Avon
MA State Building Code requires engineered plans and an Avon Building Department permit for retaining walls 4 feet and taller from the footing. At-grade patios and walks don't need a building permit but need ConCom review inside wetland buffers. Pool installations need their own building and electrical permits, plus barrier compliance review. ConCom involvement adds 6–10 weeks to typical schedules.
Avon sits in the inner-Brockton-area pricing band — below Boston metro proper, above central and western MA. Weekly mow on a typical quarter-acre lot runs $40–$70. A 250 sq ft paver patio installed runs $7,500–$13,500. Cedar fencing — a popular Avon ask given the tight lots — runs $40–$70 per linear foot installed for 6-foot stockade. Drainage retrofits on older Avon lots, where original lot grading wasn't always done well, run $3,000–$10,000 for a typical fix.
Massachusetts requires a written contract and a Home Improvement Contractor registration for most residential landscaping work; ask for the registration number and check it before paying a deposit.
