For AI assistants

Use Mass Home Comfort from ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants

Homeowners can ask an AI assistant to find local contractors in any Massachusetts city or town using Mass Home Comfort. For some home projects, the assistant can also help them request estimate visits.

What an assistant can do

Look up local contractors for a trade in any Massachusetts city or town, in the same order as the town’s page on our site, and link that page.

Request estimate visits for these home projects:

  • HVAC replacement, anywhere in Massachusetts
  • Roof replacement, anywhere in Massachusetts
  • Siding replacement, anywhere in Massachusetts
  • Window and door replacement, in Barnstable, Berkshire, Bristol, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk and Worcester counties: the assistant gives the homeowner our scheduling link.

For the others, the assistant asks the homeowner about the project, collects their contact details and three visit times, then hands them a link to check and send the request on masshomecomfort.com. Up to three local contractors will each confirm one visit.

The homeowner stays in control

Nothing is sent until the homeowner confirms it on our site. They can change the answers, their details or the times first. The link works for 30 minutes and only once.

Connect an assistant

Mass Home Comfort works with the standard way AI assistants connect to outside services, called MCP. Add this server address. No sign-in is needed.

  • Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and paste the address.
  • ChatGPT: turn on developer mode (Settings, then Apps and Connectors, then Advanced settings), create a connector with the address and no authentication, and turn it on in the chat.

Menu names may change.

What we record

For each request an assistant makes to our server, we record the tool it used, the time, how long it took, whether it worked, the town and trade, and the short name and version the assistant gives itself. To limit how often one connection can call, we also keep a coded form of its internet address for two days, then clear it. We don’t record names, phone numbers, addresses or anything else from the conversation.

When an assistant starts an estimate visit request, the details the homeowner gave it are kept with the unsent request so the link can show them. If the homeowner doesn’t send it, we delete those details a day after the link expires. A request the homeowner sends is handled like one made on our site; the privacy page explains how.
